Kingston University is a Public institution. Although its history dates back over 100 years to its roots in Kingston Technical College in 1899, it was granted University status by the UK government in 1992, thus making it one of the New universities.

Kingston University is based in Kingston upon Thames, a busy riverside town on the borders of London and Surrey.

Penrhyn Road campus: It is the hub of student activity- home to the students' union headquarters, the gym and the health centre. Students from all campuses converge on this large complex.

Kingston Hill campus: It is a modern hillside campus set in landscaped gardens three miles outside Kingston town centre. It enjoys a real community feel.

Knights Park campus: This campus has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The riverside setting provides an appropriately picturesque backdrop for the University's design students.

Roehampton Vale campus: A modern building close to Richmond Park. Its top-quality facilities, designed exclusively for engineering students, provide important vocational experience.
Students based here: aerospace engineering; automotive engineering; motorcycle engineering; and mechanical engineering.
St George's campus: Health and social care courses are run in partnership with St George's, University of London (SGUL). Some students are therefore based at SGUL's campus at St George's Hospital in Tooting, south-west London.
